For on-line sales of Olive Trees, please go to Sandy Oaks Olive Orchards. I will still carry Olive trees here at The Herb Cottage and will bring them to shows and the Farmers' Market in Houston.

Olive Tree in Orchard

These trees are grown throughout Spain and prove adaptable to a variety of climates. They are suitable for very high-density plantings, thriving with as little as five feet between trees. They do not grow as tall as other olive trees, but produce well after two or three years in the ground. These little olives produce very sweet oil, with a delicate almond overtone.

Olives are hardy in the ground in Zones 8 and up. In colder climates, treat them like Bay Trees, growing them in containers that can be brought inside during the winter. They will still bear fruit in containers, and will stay somewhat smaller in size.
