Herbs and Wellness

I love my iron tea pot! I bought it in Japan Town in San Francisco.

The study and practice of using herbs for health and wellness goes back centuries. Using herbs for good health and healing is found in every culture around the world. I am honored to be a small part of that tradition with my long connection to herbs through herb growing, crafting herb tea blends, offering classes and presentations and always being ready to discuss herbs.

I enjoy making herbal products for care and healing of the skin- our largest organ, in case you’ve forgotten. Every day exposes our skin to the forces of nature: heat, humidity, sweat, cold, drying winds and, sometimes, harsh soaps. Now, my small batch, herbal products are available to everyone from The Herb Cottage.

Nature, through the herb plants we can grow and cultivate, shares so much with us. In herbs, we find plants that heal, plants that make us happy, relaxed, energetic and more healthy. We make herbs into salves, oils, teas and other wellness products. And, that’s not to mention all the wonderful herbs we can use in our cooking and baking. But, that’s a subject for a different discussion.
