Herb Infused Body Oils

Herb Infused Body Oils

Are these the same as Essential Oils? This is a question I receive often when I have the oils at a market. My answer is always, No, these are very different than EOs.

Herb Infused oils such as I make go through a process where dried, powdered herbs are infused in either Organic Olive Oil or Almond Oil, sometimes a blend of the two. Olive oil is readily available and the cost is moderate. Almond Oil blends perfectly with our skin and makes an easily absorbed final product. The resulting oil is lighter than Olive Oil alone and still has the native healing properties of Olive Oil.

Moisturizer

The properties of the herb is gently infused into the oil over several days. After being decanted, the resulting oil is aromatic and full of the properties of the herb. They are perfectly suited for people of all ages.

Herbal infused oils can be used as a moisturizer. It works especially well on dry patches such as elbows and feet. Yet, it is gentle enough to use on the face. It is soothing for scratches and bumps that occur in everyday life. They make an excellent body massage oil.

Hair Conditioner

This is a little messy, but if you’re up to it, use any of the oils, but especially Rosemary, as a hair conditioner. Apply the oil to your head and hair. Use enough to be able to work it in, but not so much that it is dripping. Then, cover you head (and hair) with a plastic bag of some sort then wrap in a towel. (The plastic is to protect your towel.) Leave it for at least a couple of hours, longer if you can deal with it. Then, unwrap and using a gentle shampoo, wash the oil out of your hair. It might take a couple of shampoos. Your hair will feel silky smooth. Your hair and scalp will thank you.

Please, as always, check to make sure you or your recipient is not allergic to the herb in the oils.

Infused Herbal Oils are sold in 2 ounce bottles with a pump dispenser cap.
