Pet Safe Plants

As gardeners, we’ve long witnessed plants and animals living in harmony. For starters, they do it in the wild as flora and fauna. And sometimes we even involve our pets in our gardening routine, planting pet-friendly herb gardens or maybe introducing our cats to herbs that are good for them.

In caring for pets and plants at the same time, there’s actually a wealth of health benefits for us, too, and they go beyond just using plants as natural air purifiers. Much like gardening, owning pets can promote exercise and also give us renewed sense of purpose. However, as caretakers, it’s not only up to us to make good on these benefits but also to ensure our pets and plants can live in harmony. After all, our pups don’t always know not to lick that leaf or gnaw that tree.
In time for Pet Poison Prevention Month, Honest Paws drew attention to just this, compiling an ultimate guide to pet-safe plants that lists 50 plants total, as well as some of those health benefits of gardening and pet ownership. Scroll through an abbreviated version of the post in the infographic below — and find your own kind of harmony.
